The Church of the Nazarene is an ecclesiastical organization consisting of a Superintendency, a General Assembly, and District Assemblies. Local congregations may incorporate and may hold title in the corporate name. When title is held by Trustees, it may be transferred by the Trustees acting upon instruction of majority vote of the congregation at an annual meeting or a specially called meeting, with written approval of the District Superintendent. If a debt is incurred the additional approval of the District Board of Church Extension is necessary.
